We will be traveling to Korcula in June with our 17 and 14 year old. I am looking at lodging and wandering how many days you would recommend staying there and where to stay on the Island. We are huge foodies and love to go out to dinner but also love to just relax by the beach or on our terrace and watch the world go by while are teens sleep in. We are planning on having a car on the Island as well. The old town looks great. Is that the best place to stay? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you:)
When I was in Korcula, I stayed at a guest house along the road that runs along the waterfront heading west from the old town. I had a balcony with a spectacular view. Here's the listing on TripAdvisor.
There are a lot of guest houses along this stretch. It's easy to walk in the evening to the old town for dinner. And a lot of these places have parking. And there's a small sandy beach between the road and the water.
I stayed two nights, and I thought that was plenty, but I didn't have a car, so I just explored on foot. You could stay as long as you're happy just relaxing!
Staying in the old town is nice. Very atmospheric. Croatian food and wine is fabulous and inexpensive, for the most part.
We stayed two nights and it was enough. There's just not that much to do on the island unless you jjust want to relax adn not do much of anything.
Thank you very much for the advice! It is much appreciated.
