We are an extended family of 9 adults and 2 kids (1.5 and 5) from Canada that will be renting a house near split for 10 ish days in early June. We are thinking Kastel Stari, due to proximity to airport (on of us will be flying in from Paris on weekends only) and also as the train is nearby. I heard the water is nicer in Podstrana, but that the traffic from the south into Split is a nightmare.
So, I am seeking feedback on those who have stayed near Kastel Stari whether or not you feel it is a good choice and why? Or if there is another more desirable neighbourhood?
We will go into Split maybe 3 x 4 times over the 10 days to see the city and go on boat excursions etc. Due to young kids, most of the time we will likely be at the rental house with pool.
