I can arrange xtra time after my tour in Croatia. Are the Elaphite islands worth a days visit and which one? Or just cruise by rather than visit an island?

All the Elaphiti islands are worth a visit. Korcula is not one of them. My favourite is tiny Sipan, with its few cars and clean sea. The one Hotel Sipan was trying hard a few years ago, but may have run into finance problems. The islands are off the beaten track, especially the further ones, but there are fast water taxis from Gruz harbour and slow ferries by way of relaxation. One or two of the closer ones to Dubrovnik have a party reputation, but the sunsets from all of them are absolutely gorgeous. Elafiti islands are a secret worth the hassle of getting there. This is where the Dubrovnik nobility built summer palaces, and they were very smart to do so - cooler.
