Is it too late in the season to travel the last two weeks in October and the first two weeks in November to the following areas. And if you could only go to one of these areas which one would you pick- and why-- Cinque Terre - Italy, korcula- Croatia or a small town in Greece?
I have enjoyed both the Cinque Terre and several parts of Greece in mid-October. Towns known mostly for their beaches will be dead after October, including the Cinque Terre. I'm also thinking of a rather bleak day I spent on the Halkidiki peninsula of Greece - with about one hotel and two restaurants to choose from in a resort area. Pick towns that have other cultural and historical attractions. Sicily maintains its good weather a bit later in the year.
Southern part of Greece like Santorini and Crete are still warm at that part of year. However mornings are already cold. I swam in Santorini in the beginning of November. The water was not too warm. Everything was slowly closing. Big discounts on accommodation. In Korcula and Cinque Terra I was in late September and it was still warm.
