Any problems getting connected?
It's been a few years for me but I had no problems there at our apartment. I did run into a little trouble in Italy this year though, but only because my iPad was pretty old and couldn't update to a newer operating system. The issue that arose there was that you clicked through from somewhere on the hotel website to connect to WiFi and my iPad could never display the link that I needed to click on to connect. My travel partner with a newer iPad had no trouble. Keep in mind, however, that my iPad was about 6 years old. I've just replaced it due to issues like that.
I found Wi-Fi in general was widely available all through the Balkans, including Croatia, in 2015. I had a Samsung Android device, though.
Had lots of problems in Sicily last year. Thanks for the info.
In 7-1/2 months of traveling around Europe the last two summers I occasionally ended up in hotel rooms that promised Wi-Fi but didn't have it. Whether it's poor installation practices or unreliable equipment, I do not know. Some hotels/B&Bs are in historic buildings with super-thick walls. Who knows where they put the router? I think there's often only one.
What I do now is put "Need room with good Wi-Fi connection" in the Comments block every time I book a room. I figure it can't hurt, and the folks assigning rooms know where the router is. I still occasionally have a problem, but then I usually book rooms only 24 or 48 hours ahead of time and often end up getting the last room available. Smaller European hotels seem to assign you a room when they accept your reservation, not when you walk up to the check-in desk.
Great info thanks.
