I need advice on driving PLEASE.

We are flying into Dubrovnik the middle of May and staying for 2 1/2 weeks. We don’t like places that are crowded or expensive. We were looking at going up to Pula and staying a week there but I don’t want to spend 10 hours on a bus.

How is driving around Croatia? We want to rent a car and take the coast from Dubrovnik to Pula. I do not like driving In the big mountains or tight turns and close to cliffs. I have a problem with heights.
What would you recommend?

Dubrovnik to Pula is an easy drive. Its a long ways, there are closer airports unless you want to stop at several places along the way Split, Trogir, Opatija, Piran and Rovinj come to mind. Freeway most of the way if you want and near the coast at times but not real close. No deep dropoffs at all. There is a coastal road you can take or avoid it and stay on the freeway.

Thank you for the reply. We already have our tickets to the Dubrovnik airport. It was by far the cheapest one we could fly to. Originally we were going to stay in the South and not really go north of Split. But some others wanted to go to Pula and Rovinj and it looks nice so we may just stay in that area and make stops at some of the cities you mentioned along the way.
