How long to spend in Croatia?

It's Brendon again back with yetb another travel question.
I will be traveling to Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro next June and was am a little shady on how long I should spend in Croatia. I will be with my parents who are in there low 60's and they travel very well. We will be driving from Lake Bled in Slovenia and will be driving all the way down to Dubrovnik. We would like to see the towns of: Rovinj, Motovun, Pula, Plitvice National Park, Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik. I know we could spend 4 days each in Split and Dubrovnik alone, but we do not have that much time. On a minimum, how long do you say it would take us to do this all?? Just a rough guess would be nice. Thanks!

This is one of those questions that everyone will answer differently based on preferences.

(You mention Slovenia - you are visiting Ljubljana too not just Lake Bled, right?)

Plitvice needs a good half day MINIMUM to see the park but not much longer for most people. Two nights is plenty if you arrive late the first day and depart early the second. Or one night would work if you can arrive early one day or stay late the second day. Touring the park in the morning before the crowds arrive (should be crowded in June) is usually best. Only if you want to hike extensively would you need more time there.

Four nights in Split would have been too many for me. Two nights was too many for me. One night would have been perfect. Some people enjoy Split but many find it kind of a shrug - see Diocletian's Palace, wander down the Riva, etc. Many seem to find Trogir more interesting (smaller town) than Split, though I stayed in Split.

Kocula Town doesn't require a lot of time to see, either, but with a car you might explore more of the island than just the town, so two nights might be adequate - add more if you want to relax.

Dubrovnik might merit 3-4 nights because of excursions, but it sounds like you will be seeing BiH and Montenegro separately. Add more time to any town if you want to do seasonal excursions or something. (I was in Croatia in October so my options were limited.) Check out Rick's book to see what interests you in each place.
