How long to clear customs in Bari

We are arriving on the ferry from Dubrovnik at Bari at 7:30 pm and can we catch a train leaving Bari central at 9:30 pm. Is there enough time to clear customs and get to the train station. Or should we just book the 11:00pm train ?

I read on someone's post on trip advisor that you still need to go thru customs in Bari too unless this has changed. And I was checking to see how long it took. This information could be wrong.

Customs - if you have nothing to declare, then you just walk through a simple gate. I think, however, you mean immigration/passport control, which is the act of presenting your passport to an immigration officer for stamping. Yes?

I took a ferry from Croatia to Bari, no customs check two years ago.

Thank you everyone for responding. I think we will have enough time to get the 9:30 train. Also if the train leaves at noon from Dubrovnik what time do you suggest we arrive at the port?

Croatia and Italy are both in the EU, so there won't be any customs checks. You will have to go through immigration, though.

Croatia is not part of the Schengen Area yet, so there will be an immigration check.

I guess the only detail left as unknown, is if the specific ferry the OP will be on performs Immigration as the ferry is boarded, or if that process occurs in Bari. Of course in addition to wait time for Immigration, just off-loading the ferry takes some time, will the ferry dock at 7:30 sharp? Be late? You have to get from the dock to the Train station, do you need to wait for a bus for 20 minutes? Take a Cab? Will everyone else be taking a Cab?

Two hours should be OK, but has a good amount of risk. Where are you headed to? If you leave Bari at 11 PM what time will it be at your destination? Will you be able to get transportation or your hotel at that hour?

My preference would be to not book ahead, hope I can make the 9:30 train, if not, the 11:00 is available...or I just plan to stay in Bari.
