How best to split four days between Hvar, Korcula & Split ???

First time visitors in Croatia.

We are considering 2 nights in Split and 2 nights in Korcula (before Dubrovnik) Then travel to Hvar for a half day or full day trip.

Should we rather spend 3 nights in Split and 1 on Korcula?
Or
2 Nights Split, 1 Hvar, 1 Korcula?

Help. So much to see. So little time.

Then where on the islands do you recommend we stay with children ages 8 to 11 years.
Is it worth staying further out from Korcula town if you don't have a car?
Is Hvar worth a visit if seeing Korcula, or should we give it a miss.

Since Hvar is on the way to Korcula, I wouldn’t go backwards. I have stayed at all three - 2 nights at Split, 1 at Hvar and 2 at Korcula.

If your kids are fine with 1-night stops, I would do 2,1,1. Otherwise I would skip Hvar. 2 nights at Split was fine. I wouldn’t have wanted an extra night there, considering the other locations.

I don’t know if there’s a place to leave your luggage at Hvar to stop on the way to Korcula if you wanted to have lunch there, walk around briefly and head onto Korcula. The ferry is an hour to Hvar from Split, and I think about the same onto Korcula.

As above, two nights in Split is sufficient.
