Wondering if anyone has done a "Home Stay" in any of the Islands or Dubrovnik. One where you stay in a Family Property, perhaps in a separate Building or Apartment, but get to experience what it is to live like a Local?

Jadranka Benussi has several apartments in her home. Walking distance to the old town Dubrovnik.

I have not been to Dubrovnik, but heard that this location is more expensive than others in the country. Something to think about.

No, but having been to a bit of both, I would choose an island.

If you want a local Experience, look for a rental on a smaller Island, such as Olib or Unije. These are reachable by ferry from Zadar. There are so many smaller Island where the tourists might be other Europeans who return to the same place every summer, or Croatians. Krk, Cres, Pag, Mali Lošinj are aslo a few that I can think of.
