I have rented a car in Dubrovnik to drop of in Slovenia through Hertz. While I am happy with the price, I was told by the US based agent that the hold on my credit card would equal the amount of the rental plus a tank of gas. I have read otherwise - that most rental car companies in Europe will add a hold of several thousand dollars.
Has anyone rented recently through Hertz in Croatia and can you confirm this?
