Help me finish my itinerary! Leaving Sunday :)

Hi All!
I’m hoping that I could get some assistance with my loose itinerary for Croatia. Leaving Sunday.

16th- arrive in Dubrovnik. 2 nights stay.

18th- early morning hop in car and drive to split. One night in split

19th- morning Car ferry to either hvar or Brac
Thinking setting up shop on one island and maybe make day trips to vis/brac/hvar. 3 nights at destination

22nd- Car ferry back to split and head to Krka national park. Stay the night somewhere TBD

23rd- super early start to Plitvice lakes get there as soon as it opens. Stay somewhere for the night TBD

24th. Drive to Porec. Stay the night.

25th. early Ferry to Venice. Stay the night

26th. Fly out of Venice back home

My main questions here:

Any places we should stop on our drive from Dubrovnik to split?

Is parking in Dubrovnik a nightmare? Deciding on whether to get the car when we land in DBV or just right before driving to split.

Suggest staying on hvar or brac? I’m leaning toward brac because I love hiking and beaches. Boyfriend wants hvar for the city.

Any suggestions on where to stay between Krka and plitvice?

Any suggestion on where to stay after plitvice before heading to porec?

Should i add another day on the island and leave directly after plitvice to porec? Or will we want the entire day at plitvice and explore porec for a day before Ferry?

Hope someone is able to help! I’m sitting at a coffee shop overwhelmed by options- googling non stop lol

Where are you staying in Dubrovnik--does it offer parking? If not, I'd pick up on the way to Split. Depending on how much of a detour you want, you could stop at Mostar.
You could actually put off even having the car until after Split--then you could take a catamaran to an island (after Dubrovnik and before Split. See the Krilo website for timetables.
Hvar has great beaches and hiking opportunities as well--either island will be fine.

After Krka, you could stay in Sibenik. For Plitvice, I'd just stay in the vicinity of the park. Opatija might be an option en route to Porec.

Thanks so much! We’re staying about a 15 minute walk from pile gate. North east of it. No parking with stay. We considered waiting on the car rental but we want the freedom to come and go as we please and be able to see more of the islands.

Great recommendations. Will look into those other cities!

You can always do a day rental of a car or scooter on an island--with only two full days and day trips planned, you have little time to make use of the car. If you want it in Dubrovnik, definitely ask your host for parking suggestions!

That’s very true. Thanks for the recommendation. Car rental is only $100 the entire trip so was just trying to plan it around that!
