We are want to base ourselves in one town, Any opinions on either town?

I haven't been to stobrec, but based myself in Trogir for 2 nights on our way north, back from Dubrovnik. We had stayed 2 nights in Split on our way south.
Trogir is a very nice, small place to stay. It takes maybe 3 hours/ half a day to visit and is a nice place to find some restaurants and just slowly walk after dinner.
