We are two older couples and we've been search for accommodations in Hvar for September 2018. Need walk-in showers and a room that does not require many steps down, or many steps us to it. Parking nearby would be helpful.

Parking is difficult in Hvar town and the first half of September will still be party season there. I would suggest that you consider staying in Stari Grad, where parking is easier and it is flatter and closer to the ferry port. Vrboska or Jelsa would be other good options.
Sorry, but the places up in the hills where I have stayed have lots of steps, so wouldn't be suitable. Much of the accommodation is older property or modern, but built in the traditional style and therefore there are few bungalows.
