Getting from Dubrovnik to Kotor

You still have to go through passport control at each end and EES at Croatia so figure 3.5 hours the whole trip. Thats great but you miss a lot of good stuff along the way.

If you find a smaller private or semi private cruise please do post it.

I love Montenegro. Two trips this year and 6 over the last 10 years. The bay needs 2 nighrs to begin to do it well. Montenegro as a whole quite a bit more.

Afraid i wasn't much help. Croatia is okay, but I love Montenegro. But on any trip I get a lot out of the little places between the tourist stops. But that takes a lot of research.

I would probably recommend a land tour over a boat tour, the boats are only three days a week and leave you limited time in Kotor. If you can go when there is not so much border traffic it will only be about two hours drive and you will be able to see more of Montenegro. But then again being on a boat for six hours to visit a place for five hours does not much appeal to me personally, maybe you are different.

Ivan, as near as I can tell, the OP is going one way and the boat ride is 3 hours.

The drive, if there were no passport control is going to be 2.5 hours. I would leave early and budget 3:25 hours and hope its faster.

But as a land trip, one way or over night, there are a number of great stops along the way so I have used the whole day getting to Kotor and glad I did.

If someone were to hire a Montenegrin driver/ guide to pick up in Croatia the guide would lnow the stops. Then the difference in hotel costs between Dubrovnik and Kotor might almost offset the guides cost (especially one from Montenegro).
