Getting around Brac island

I am hoping to do a day trip from Split to Brac in early June and am wondering what will be the best way to get around the island. I would like to see Skrip, Vidova Gora, and Zlatni Rat beach if I have time for all of that. I have heard that the buses don't run so frequently, so I am thinking that maybe taxis will be my best option. Are taxis readily available at these places?

We caught the ferry from Split to Brac last May. There were lots of taxis waiting near the wharf when the ferry docked. They encouraged people to share a taxi and split the cost. We decided to just walk around and have a leisurely lunch at a restaurant near the ferry wharf, so we didn’ really explore much of the island. We really loved the small part that we saw. It’s very picturesque.

Would you be open to renting a car or scooter? I don't recall seeing a lot of taxis except for the ferry port and around Zlatni Rat beach. I took the bus around the island (in retrospect, I would have no issue renting a car).. I don't know how you can check the frequency of buses (I really couldn't check much online before I went), but I wouldn't count on hearsay alone. Maybe they run more often during tourist season when you're going. The bus was full of locals (mostly older ladies/men) when I took it so I know they depend on them.

I would be open to renting a car, although I looked for a service online and the closest option I could find was at the Split airport. If I see any places when I get to Supetar then that will probably be what I do.
