I am looking for the best way to fly from Venice to Croatia to begin a 6 day trip down the Dalmation coast to Dubrovnik.. I am planning on flying into Split although the service is quite expensive and some long flights and awkward routes to get there. Would there be a better city to fly into?
Besides doing the coastline, we may travel to Plitvice National Park at the beginning of the trip.

Venice is so close to Croatia, that locals just drive, hence the poor air services, due to a lack of demand. There are direct flights from Venice to Dubrovnik, if you could do you route in reverse? Six days isn't very long to cover this route including Plitvice. Dubrovnik and Split warrant at least two full days each ....
