Are there any direct flights? We have a direct from Portland to Amsterdam. Plan is to fly from Amsterdam to Split. We will be in the Split area for a week. Then we will take the ferry and spend a couple days in Dubrovnik and then fly to Amsterdam to catch our flight home. What airlines should I investigate? There is nothing on Delta or KLM. TIA!
KLM (via KLM.com) has nonstop and connecting flights to and from both Split and Dubrovnik. Is it possible that a flight is not available on a specific day or time period that you are seeking. It is not uncommon for a carrier to suspend service during certain seasons or days.
Look at the following airlines: KLM, EasyJet, Whizz, Austrian, Croatia. I googled airlines flying the routes you want to take. Do not put non stop into your search.
Rather then looking at non stops, a rarity for us when we fly most places, look at the airlines that fly in the areas where you are traveling to and from. EasyJet is a British economy airline.
I always look at the airport wiki page to see what airlines and destinations I can get to. For example, here is the Schipol page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amsterdam_Airport_Schiphol
Scroll down on the wiki page to ”Airlines and Destinations”
For Split: KLM, easyJet (seasonal), Transavia (seasonal) and Croatia Air (seasonal)
For Dubrovnik: easyJet, KLM, and Transavia all have seasonal flights
Thanks everyone. We are looking to leave Dubrovnik on October 8th, a fringe date so it is likely there are no direct flights that day.
I would offer that the logic of Laura's advice is spot on, but I would consult
the airport website directly rather than rely on a crowdsourced update on
Wikipedia being accurate.
can give you a quick view of your schedule options for most airlines (but
not Southwest, Easyjet, or Ryanair). It looks like you are correct that Oct 8
is not an option for a non-stop DBV-AMS flight, nor is it good for BRU, RTM,
or DUS.
You can get decent (read, not too long) connections thru ZAG, VIE, MUC, ZRH,
or FRA.
