Ferry Schedule and best way to book

Hi Fellow Travelers:

Does anyone know how far in advance the ferry schedules are released? We are going to Croatia in mid June. (no car). Are there better sites to buy tickets on as well? I read a few posts about ferrhopper.com are they legit? Any difference between them and the individual companies? I will need ferries from Dubrovnik to Korcula and another from Korcula to Split.

Thanks

Chris

www.jadrolinija.hr
www.krilo.hr
www.tp-line.hr

Passengers without a car can buy tickets a day or two before sailing either at the port or online as there are many summer boats and they rarely sell out.

You can buy online directly from the above websites and also from the reputable re-seller, Ferryhopper.

If you’re staying in Korcula Town, the best boats to take are the faster Krilo and TP-Line catamarans because they will drop you off right at Korcula’s Old Town. The Jadrolinija ferries dock a few miles away from Korcula Town and that means you’ll need to additionally pay for a taxi to get to and from town.

Thanks Kenko. Great advice. Appreciate it. Ill look at those ferry lines as first choice

PS On a side note do you have any hotels you recommend in Dubrovnik? The Hilton I wanted is apparently sold out

The Villa Orabelle and Rixos Premium hotels . Great hotels overlooking the Adriatic and just 1.5 miles from Old Dubrovnik’s Pile Gate.

If you can afford the Hilton in Dubrovnik then look at the Pucić Palace. It is inside the walls of the old town. It’s a little out of our price range but I would love to stay there one trip. Maybe if we go off season.
And we always look at Croatiaferries.com for schedules. They have the links to the different lines for purchase. I like to purchase them online cause the ferries leave from the Gruz Port, it is about a 20-30 minute walk from the old town. If purchasing the same day you would have to go earlier than necessary and wait in line.

Thank you Barbara. Much appreciated. Ill look at all these. I'm also looking at hotels for Split and found a few that intrigued me (Judita Palace, Cornaro Hotel to name a few)

In Split we always stay at the Hotel Peristil. Lovely hotel, family owned. Right inside the walls of the palace. There is no elevator but they always bring our bags up to our room when we ask, and bring them back down.
They also have a breakfast off the menu and a nice restaurant for dinner. Check it out, Im sure you will like it.
When we travel, we stay as close to the city center as possible. We like the option of stopping back in the afternoon for whatever reason. My recommendations are both within the walls of their respective old towns.
Same in Korčula. If we don’t stay with family within the old city, we stay at Hotel Fabris. Just a short walk from the main city steps. The Aminess Korčula Heritage Hotel is on the waterfront. Again, the last two times we visited it was fully booked.
