We are considering taking the ferry from Ancona to Split to start the walking tour we are taking of Hvar and Brac. Have any of you taken this ferry or others between Italy and Croatia? We would get a cabin as we are way past our backpacking days. However we don't need luxury! This will be in late September.
We have ours booked for 29th May from Ancona to Split. Bari to Dubrovnik would have suited us better but alas this year it is not running on the day we needed it. We booked and paid for it, with 2 cabins, one for us and one for our kids, to leave at 9pm and arrive in Split at 7am. We just got notification last week that this has now changed to a daytime voyage, leaving at 10am, arriving at 7pm. Being a daytime voyage other than a nice place to rest the cabins are a waste of money, plus we now have another nights accomm that we have to pay for on land. Ah well. I look forward to seeing replies :D
Yes, we took the overnight ferry from Ancona to Split. We had a cabin with a bathroom and shower and slept soundly. It was not luxurious, however. The people who did not have a cabin, and spent the night upright looked a bit worse for wear in the AM - like a transatlantic flight.
Hello. Which ferry company did you use?
