Feedback on four-country itinerary

Greetings,
What a great community! I'm soliciting feedback on this itinerary for 1) does it look too ambitious? and 2) any input on using auto the whole way and 3) any intel on whether the car ferry options are realistic as indicated below?

Thanks ahead of time! Dan

-Fly into Ljubljana SL, 3 nights

-Rental car to Zagreb, 2 nights

-car to Sarajevo, 2 nights

-car to Lukomir, 1 night

-car to Mostar, 2 nights

-car to Dubrovnik, 4 nights (with one day trip into Montenegro)

-car to Korcula (car ferry from Orbic?), 2 nights
***car ferry on to Split??

-car to Plitvice, 1 night near park

-car to Rovinj, 3 nights

-car back to Ljubljana for return flight

You are trying to cover a lot of ground and you have 2 days in particular with hours spent in the car, namely Zagreb to Sarajevo and Korcula to Plitvice (6 and 7/8 hours respectively). You can easily spend 3 weeks and not see all that Slovenia and Croatia has to offer. No Split or Trogir?

You would need to check that your car hire would permit you to go into BiH.

You could take a night off Dubrovnik and add it to Korcula, as looking for accommodation for 3 nights will open up more options, as many have a 3 night minimum booking. The only way off Korcula with a car is to head back to Orebic - there is no direct ferry, hence the length of the journey.

Ideally, another night in Rovinj would give you more time to explore the hill villages.

Thanks for the great info, Jennifer. I did leave out Split from the above--I have a much more detailed itinerary and I do have either one or two days there, but was having trouble with getting there. Your info about the ferry is helpful! I was wondering if that was maybe too much time in Dubrovnik. I'll rework it to include more time in Rovinj too.

Thanks again!
