Favorite restaurants and entertainment in Dubrovnik

We'll be staying in the Old Town area of Dubrovnik for 3 days in late April and wanted recommendations for good restaurants and evening entertainment (music in particular). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Favorite restaurants:
Taj Mahal - a Bosnian restaurant, lots of meat dishes, you need to make reservations
Kopun - Go to the top of the Jesuit steps, to the right is the Jesuit church, and to the left is Kopun. One of the best meals of our trip; delicious fresh fish and seafood.

Take the cable car to the top of Mt. Srd. Have drinks at Cafe Panorama with spectacular views of Dubrovnik.

Agree with above recommend restaurants. The restaurant at the top of Mt. Srd is good but very expensive. There are 2 other restaurants which are owned by the same group, one Dubravka 1863, is to the left outside the Ploče Gate, and the other, Gradska Kavana, is at the other end of the Stradun across from St. Blaise Church.

For the evening there is a lovely boat ride around the outside of the city which is during Sunset. Also, a young woman started Haunted Dubrovnik walking tours in the early evening. They take you around the city, down back streets you wouldn’t find on your own.

Check the TI office, near the water fountain, for anything happening during April. You can also purchase your boat ride tickets there.

If ever there was a worthy splurge it’s Restaurant Panorama. The view is incomparable of course, but I also thought the food was excellent and the service superlative. All things considered, I didn’t find it astronomically expensive on the scale of expensive restaurants, or in comparison to other restaurants in Dubrovnik. Reserve straight away.

Also had nice meals at Pizzeria Oliva, and Spagetteria Toni. Nice outdoor seating at both. In general, I had very low expectations for Dubrovnik’s dining, but found myself pleasantly surprised. It’s not earth shattering, but in a fierce environment of competition it feels there’s little room for failure.

We had excellent dining experiences at both Tavulin and Lucin Kantun. You may want to consider reservations, as both get very busy. On the opposite end of the spectrum was Zuzori. Incredibly rude and arrogant service, and food was not worth the price point. It was the worst dining of our month long trip.
