dubvronik crowds and pre-purchases

WE will be traveling to Dubrovnik in July. I am pretty good at scheduling etc around crowds but am curious about tickets. Often Rick Steves gives recommendations to buy certain tickets in advance but I don't find that in his Croatia book. Have you all found that to be necessary in Dubrovnik? The wall? Ferries?

The wall, no need. The cable car, also no need. The few museums there are never crowded. I always buy my ferry tickets on line as soon as i have a Set date. You can then have them on your phone or print them out. I always figure it’s one less thing i have to think about. Also, the port in Dubrovnik is in Gruz, a 15-20 minute walk, where they are on sale. A Minor annoyance, but an annoyance. PS, be prepared for Heat, intense Heat.
