I am looking for a tour guide for a general overview of the city. a day or partial day tour of Dubrovnik and immediate surroundings. The private guides mentioned in my Rick Steves Dubrovnik Snapshot book either have not responded to my inquiry or appear to be out of business. Does anyone have a recent guide you recommend? We will be in Dubrovnik for 2 days in August and would like the guide on day one to give a good over view and tour parts of the area we wouldn't get to easily on our own. Then the second day we can explore the old town etc. at our leisure.

If you go to Toursbylocals.com and type in Dubrovnik there are quite a few guides. I just checked and there is one young man Igor B. Who has a 2 hour walking tour for up to 6 people for $120. They give you some background on each guide so you can see who would make a good fit. We have used this website in many different countries. In fact we will book through them for a tour of Split this August. Just trying to decide which one.
