Any experience/advice with the parking lot by the boat port at Gruz? (availability of places, prices, etc.)
Some old (2008-2010) web posts mention it but we haven't found any current references, including from official Dubrovnik sources. Most want to direct us to the large downtown garage, which we'd prefer to avoid If there are other viable options.
This is just for one day's parking.
No experience with driving there. Google Maps is usually helpful for finding parking lots, but in this case is also just directing to the big garage.
Indeed - there are plenty of warnings (online) about use of that central garage so we were seeking to avoid its use.
We asked our host about parking and he confirmed that there should be parking in the lot by the cruise port (Gruz). However, he also referred us to the parking lot for the Excelsior/Argentina Hotels (east of Old Town), which was much more convenient to our location. The cost there was 120 kuna a day. The Argentina's website indicates that a 'reservation' is required but at this time of year the hotel told us that a reservation was not required. There were no problems using that for overnight parking.
