Dubrovnik - Karmen Apartments changing name to Van Bloemen Apartments

I contacted Karmen apartments and I received an email back from Marc that they are gradually changing the name to Van Bloemen Apartments. He has a website and asks for one night deposit. It looks legit but just wanted to check to see if anyone has seen this change and stayed there recently. I am just very cautious because of all of the scams out there. He has 2 aparments available for our stay. Apartment 3 is larger and is quite more expensive than Apartment 4 which is small. Is it worth it to pay for the larger apartment?

We stayed there in 2019, which wasn't recent, of course. But I do remember that we had to pay a one-night deposit in 2019. We had to cancel our trip planned for the spring but Marc applied that deposit to our September trip.

Cindy Van Bloemen run by Marc is listed in the last two editions of the Rick Steves' Croatia & Slovenia book. Perhaps he is taking over the Karmen property?

Hi Cindy, we just booked an apartment with Marc. He does, indeed ask for one night's deposit. I'm pretty cautious myself but he seems completely legit. He also let us know that they are changing their apartment name to Van Bloemen Apartments. Evidently Karmen is a popular name for apartments. He sent me the link for Van Bloemen Apartments. It shows the same apartments as you can see on the Karmen apartments site.
