We are thinking of traveling to Dubrovnik in late September. Do you know if the ferries will still be running and will most restaurants and hotels be open?
Ferries to where? There are year-round ferries that run up and down the coast, but they don't run every day. In season (July, August, maybe September) there are more ferries running between different coastal towns and islands.
I visited Dubrovnik in early October. The weather, I was told, was unusually warm, and therefore many places were still open. Once the weather turns, apparently many restaurants and bars close for the season. That's probably sometime in October.
September is a great time to be in Dubrovnik. Hotels and restaurants will all still be open. You should also have nice weather. Maybe low 70s. Some ferries run year round and others thru September. Year round you can reach Sobra, Polace. In September, you can also reach Korcula and Lastovo. Just double check the schedules since you will be there the end of September. www.gv-line.hr www.jadrolinija.hr
