Dubrovnik Hotel or Apt for Sept

We're a couple (in our 60's) and are planning to stay in Dubrovnik for three nights mid September.
Our priorities are quiet enough to get a good nights sleep, cleanliness, 2-3 sets of stairs OK no checkin luggage.
Many are located in Old Town - we're ok with being close or if we're in Old Town, a good night's sleep is important.
We prefer a moderate price $90 to $150.

We will also have one night in Zagreb (after our tour ends).

Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance for suggestions!

I've been to Dubrovnik twice. If I were going back, I'd start on Booking.com and use the map feature to find places in my price range in a good location. First time, i stayed just outside the Pile gate of the old town (flat, no steps) and found that a great spot, though I'd probably not stay in the same place (don't think it's even open anymore). I stayed not far from the Hilton Imperial (which was far too expensive for me but a reference point on a map if you are seeking places). Inside the town walls probably means more expensive or noisier but might work.

There are very few proper "hotels" in Dubrovnik's old town area, FYI - mostly apartments and sobe (B&Bs - or "private rooms," sometimes with private bathroom too). You will find a lot of those on Booking.com and other websites. Zagreb has more conventional hotels.

Thanks - your comments are very helpful. I have been looking at booking.com and the map is very useful. I just got a bit overwhelmedd with all the choices and most were all highly rated so finding a place shouldn't be that hard. The apartments seem to be better priced than the traditional hotels which may be further away from the old town and sights.

I'll continue to study booking.com Thanks again!!

Some of the properties on Booking.com are also reviews on Trip Advisor or elsewhere. I usually google for the names of these places, even if some of them are small.

I'd narrow it down to two or three places in your price range in decent locations, etc. and go from there. Feel free to post your choices here.

Check out the Villa Sigurata Hotel. Stayed there a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. It's inside the walls, after having done that I knew we made the right decision because Dubrovnik is so freeking crowded during the day, you want to be there in the evening to get the most out of it. The hotel is up a side alley and very quiet.

Hi,
There are many, and many, private accommodations inside the Dubrovnik Old Town. If he apartment is not on the main Stradun street, I believe you should not have any problems with the noise and getting the sleep. As what I have noticed is that bars are mostly open by midnight and at that time the music goes down so it gets more quiet, while being located in the Old Town is really special feeling opposite to being located somewhere else. Once we were in Dubrovnik we booked with Booking and we stayed in one really nice apartment (2 rooms + living room) called Old Town Heart. This place is family owned and whatever you might need they will be able to assist you. They stay close and they were a great assistance for us!
Hope this helps :)

I stayed at Apartments Lepur (on booking.com) in Dubrovnik for 3 nights in June 2018, and found my apartment clean, comfy bed, and well within your price range. There were 3 flights of stairs but the apartments are very well located, and there are no street stairs off Stradum to get there. One bedroom, one living room, with small kitchenette, bathroom. Very quiet.
