dubrovnic - Rome

My wife and I are taking a Rick Steves tour of Slovenia/Croatia and end up in Dubrovnik next May. We considered a ferry to Bari, Italy, then either take a train or rent a car. I'm having difficulty determining ferry schedules this far ahead and I want to plan our hotel reservations. I'm not sure that the ferry even runs on Saturdays when the tour ends.
Any ideas?

If you go to croatiaferries.com the information is all there. On the first page click under Dubrovnik ferries (first on the list) then click on to Bari. It tells you which months and days they run. It is an overnight ferry from 10pm to 8 am. This year the first ferry ran on April 15. The days may be the same for next year. Maybe you can get an idea from this year’s schedule.

The Dubrovnik to Bari ferry schedules don't vary much from year-to-year, so you'll get a pretty good indication of next year's sailing schedule by looking at this year's. Next year's probably won't be posted until late February or early March. If you plan to use Jadrolinija, you could call or email their very helpful customer service department and inquire. They have fluent English speakers who respond promptly.

If you don't want to skip all or part of the last night of the tour's activities to get a Friday evening ferry, then your options would be to look into flying to Italy or spending a couple of extra days in the Dubrovnik area. Consider visiting Montenegro if your tour doesn't go there and your departure for Italy is delayed.
