driver from Split to Zagreb

We will be leaving Split September 24, then going to Zagreb. Trying to decide whether to rent a car or hire a driver. Don't want to do bus since we would like to see Plitvice on the way.

Does anyone know drivers who would do this trip?

You could do it by bus, perhaps - but the schedules might not be ideal to have much time exploring the park in a single day. Worth checking on www.getbybus.com or www.buscroatia.com .

There is also at least one company offering one-way transfers between Zagreb and Split (both ways) with a stop in Plitvice for a few hours. No experience using them, though. Easy to find by googling. That would probably be a lot cheaper than hiring your own driver.

I did one of the tours mentioned above through Split Excursions (www.split-excursions.com) but the reverse - Zagreb to Split via Plitvice. It was not inexpensive (around $150 per person) but it was a small group of about 8 of us plus our guide and the van was air conditioned and comfortable. We had a solid 4 hours at Plitvice with a good tour from our guide, and we also stopped in Rastoke and had a late lunch after Plitvice.

Since it was still technically off season on May 31st when I was there, the crowds were not too bad at Plitvice. The recommendation around here is usually to do Plitvice first thing in the morning after staying there the night before, but I think since you're going in shoulder season like I was, you should be fine crowd-wise. Whatever you do, don't miss Plitvice - it's amazing!

Petar Vlasic at Dubrovnik Riviera Tours will do that with you. We used him for two long day tours into BH and Montenegro. After he left us he was doing week-long private tour for a group who wanted to go wine-tasting. He'll let you design whatever you want. We liked him very much. http://www.dubrovnikrivieratours.com

Fly Croatia Air. It's fast and cheap.
