Is there now a second direct train from Zagreb to Vienna and if so, what are the times.

I just see one at 7:25 - the EC158 is the only direct - 6:32 travel time. There is one with one change at 12:35 - change in Villach - 8:52 travel time
Maybe something date specific? Or day of week - I checked Fri, Sat, Sun

The 7:25 does look to be the only direct train. Have you been looking on the Deutsche Bahn website, www.bahn.com? That is the most comprehensive and accurate for train schedules all over Europe and I saw the same thing as you.
