My husband and I have a 2 week trip planned in late September with all but 2 days completed, busy vacation but still some down time. Looking to find something different in or near Dubrovnik ,we will not have a car, and a day in Zagreb where we will have a car. Any suggestions would be helpful, we are active, love history and wine if that helps! Also, looking for town to stop in from Plitvice to Ljubljana.

In Dubrovnik we are doing a city tour, Game of Thrones tour ( my husband is a big fan of the show), and a bike ride in wine region. In Zagreb we have a city tour planned but nothing else.

There is much you can do in Dubrovnik without a car, especially that you mentioned that you are energetic and love history and wine haha. Same goes for Zagreb, but if you'll have a car it'll be more comfortable and you won't lose much time.
