Day excursion Dubrovnik to Montenegro

Hello
My husband and I will be visiting Dubrovnik in early October. We are interested in doing a day trip to Montenegro. Someone on your site mentioned Atlas tours. After checking they offer this excursion one day per week and will not work with our schedule. Has anyone had experience with “ Select Dubrovnik Excursions “. They offer a Montenegro with boat cruise in Kotor bay for $66. I do not see any reviews of this agency. I have contacted them requesting review information.. I have also checked other agencies and some with bad reviews. I am aware we can rent a vehicle ourselves but would rather take a tour. Any suggestions?

I don’t see how this can be done for $66 dollars. The distance and border crossings alone make it a questionable plan for one day out.

I believe the offer is for the boat cruise in Kotor Bay, and not the transport and everything else.

I am sorry, I haven't heard of them. But Dubrovnik to Montenegro is easily doable on your own, especially if you want to visit Kotor. Kotor is a very small town and you don't need an excursion booked for that. You can do a little research online and see what you want to visit. Getting a rent a car will be more convenient and you will have more freedom and time to explore on your own.
Once in Kotor, you can travel to Budva, Suto More, Perast, St.Stephen Island and Our Lady of the Rocks. All in close distance and it will turn out much cheaper than booking tours. A little research, google maps or GPS will help you out a lot.

Atlas offers 2 different Montenegro tours. One is the all-day tour and the other (Montenegro Blue) is similar to the one you describe above. It's offered more frequently than the all-day tour. Also, $66 (around 450 kuna) is about the going rate for this type of tour.

Another approach is simply to take the bus, and go there yourself. We did that. Worked fine. 2 hour trip or so.

We have booked a private guide & car for a day trip from Dubrovnik to Kotor for early September, with stops in Herceg Novi & Perast. The total cost for my wife and I is 1425 Kuna (193 euru). She will taylor the day to our needs. She comes highly recommended. Link for reviews:

To me, paying a little more for a private guide is well worth the money.
