Little by little, Europe is getting more interconnected.

Out goes the Kuna, in comes the Euro and prices will rise across the country.

I don’t know about the Schengen date but they are scheduled to go to the Euro in 2023. We have a cousin who works in a bank and that is their goal date.

I know that most Americans have only gotten a couple weeks’ time off at a time, but much/increasingly more of Europe does/will increasingly impose a forced 90 day trip limit, if that’s where you’re going. For those with the time, money, and inclination, perhaps that’ll direct tourists to other destinations. Sounds like you could still go to Croatia, but then have to Split (heh, heh).

No, they are not. The Croatian government has 2023-01-01 as their target date, but no date has been scheduled yet.

If as Badger says, nothing has been scheduled, it seems unlikely that 2023-01-01 can be the "go-live". I would imagine 2-3 years would be necessary.

I too hope that the euro is not made the currency of Croatia. It will increase prices.

Yay! A few years ago we drove about 1500 miles across seven European countries and the worst part (other than several construction delays between Munich and Salzburg) was the border crossing from Slovenia into Croatia.

Maybe I should have been a bit more clear. No date has been set for Croatia's entry to the eurozone, but that doesn't mean they aren't working on it. Croatia joined ERM II 2020-06-10 which means the earliest date for entry to the eurozone is 2022-06-10. If they manage to fulfill the other criteria until then, I think 2023-01-01 is possible.

Re: above post - the banks are working overtime to make the conversion, and no they did not tell their employees when, but it is going to happen. A relative who works at a bank says probably sometime in 2023. Of course, this could get delayed, and delayed but not forever.
