Croatia Summer itinerary 10 days

We're planning to go to Croatia this summer with our boys who will be 8 & 10 years old. We are flying to London and back from SFO and have 2 weeks, from May 29-June 13th.

We plan to fly from London to Dubrovnik. We plan to stay in Dubrovnik for a few days and then would like to go to some beach towns and/or beautiful sites. We hope it is warm enough to swim and would like to find a beach town that has warm water that time of year. We would like to find beach towns that are not to much of a 'party scene'. Thanks for any help!

Best,
Suzanne

With 10 days, I would suggest 2 days in Dubrovnik or longer if you want to cover day trips to Mostar or Mljet.

You could then take the Krilo catamaran to Korcula or Hvar and stay for 3-4 nights minimum. End up in Split and fly back to London from there - look at Easyjet, Ryanair or Norwegian for flights. Split needs a full day as does nearby Trogir, a boat/bus ride away. Plitvice is a long, but possible day from Split and easier with a car.

If you stayed in Stari Grad, Vrboska or Jelsa on Hvar, you could take a day trip to Brac.

I don't recommend the long day trip to Plitvice. The park is justifiably very popular and gets swamped with day trippers to the point that your enjoyment is seriously affected. You really need to spend a night there.

Try to schedule your beach portion as late as possible. I have always visited in late May and found the sea quite chilly (but being from SF instead of SC you may find it more tolerable). The party scene in Hvar is during July-August, so no worries there. I always thought Brac would be quite child friendly because of the shallow sea and smooth rocks at Zlatni Rat in Bol.
Korcula has a sandy beach at Lumbarda, but I vastly prefer the pebble beaches.
If you have enough time, flying into Zagreb to visit Plitvice national park on your way to the coast, or flying into Split to visit similar Krka park, would be nice.
