Croatia-Slovenia in April

I am planning a Croatia Slovenia trip for the end of April and would like input.
Tentative itinerary:
We fly into Zagreb in morning. Tour Zagreb city and head for Plitivice. Sleep there and next morning walk the whole loop.Sleep there again. Early next morning drive to Pula. Walk around and drive to Opatija. Sleep there (or maybe sleep in Lovran?). Walk along Lungomare Lunch in Volosko. Same day or more probably next day hike Mt Vojak in Mt Ucka Nature Park
Next day drive to Lake Bled.spend 2 days in area Take boat to castle, Vintgar Gorge, Lake Bohinj
Spend our last day in Lubljana and dive to Zagreb for an evening flight

What do you recommend? Can you suggest hotels at any of these locations?

A few amends and comments...

At Lake Bled, it is a small church on the island, not a castle. I don't think it is necessary to take the boat to the island.

Don't just stop at Pula. Rovinj is by far the jewel of Istria; Porec is worth a stop too. Piran is so beautiful. What about Motovun? All of these are so much more beautiful than Opatija.

Vintgar Gorge is great.

You can get maps in guidebooks or download and copy from your computer. You can also use Google Maps online to plan a route.

We were in Croatia and Slovenia last fall. We stayed in Lovran (at a lovely hotel called Villa Vera) but walked to Opatija on the walkway along the sea (about 6.5 km.) I agree that Rovinj is worth a stop and also Piran. If you have time, I'd suggest trying for a couple of nights in Ljubljana--one option would be to base in Ljubljana and take a day trip to Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge.

Near Lake Bled we stayed in the small town of Radovljica at Penzion Kovac.

Make sure not to try to do too much--slow down a bit and enjoy!

Here you can check accommodation in Croatia and if you do not find anything, you can contact me so I can help you. Hope you will have a great time in Croatia!

What am looking to do now is refine the itinerary above and make adjustments to have a well planned trip. Also need advice on car rentals
