Croatia Road Trip

Hello,

We are going to Croatia for 2 weeks. The first week will be spent on a yacht visiting all the islands-
Trogir to vis
Vis to Hvar
Bol
Starigrad

the second week we are hoping to do a little road trip. I had planned to rent a car in Split and drive down the peninsula to our hotel in orebic, for 2 nights. After this we will then return the rental in Dubrovnik where we will end our trip there for 3 nights.

1- what is the best, route in order to get to Orebic form Split.

Also Should We just ditch the car and take a ferry from split to Korcula and then from Korcula to Dubrovnik?
My hesitation is that I have heard such awesome things about traveling down the coast.

2- if you have a strong suggestion on an alternate plan, let me know. we are in our thirties and love to travel.

You have two options to get to Orebic. Either take the ferry from Ploce to Trpanj, or drive via Ston and along Peljesac. If you go via Ston, you will be crossing into and out of Bosnia at the town of Neum. If you decide to do this you need to tell your hire car company to be sure you have the correct paperwork. Actually, if you plan to take the ferry you should tell the hire firm too. Going via BiH or going on a ferry can incur a charge.

Ok great, thank you for your help! If we took the the Peljesac/ Ston option do you recommend staying over night at any of the little villages or any restaurant tips.
