Croatia Itinerary-would love input, thank you!

Hello,

Here is our tentative itinerary for Croatia, how should we adjust? More nights in one place? Remove Korcula and add another night in Split, Hvar, or Dubrovnik? My initial thought is that this feels rushed, I usually prefer a minimum of 3 nights in each place, but had heard Korcula was beautiful and it was worth going to.

Dubrovnik-3 nights (fly into)
Korcula-2 nights
Hvar-3 nights
Split-2 nights (fly out of Split for Amsterdam)
Amsterdam-3 nights

Thank you!

Kari

That looks like a very reasonable schedule. If you have more than 2 full days in Dubrovnik, perhaps you can do a day trip to Montanegro one day (Kotor Bay or any of the little towns along the coastline). I wouldn't skip Korcula - it is beautiful and worth comparing to other islands.

I think your itinerary is reasonable, but it all depends on what you like to do. You will run out of sights to see before you run out of time in any of these places. But if you're looking to kick back and relax and enjoy the ambiance of a place, take long walks or bike rides or rent a scooter and explore the islands, lie on the beach and enjoy the crystal clear blue water, maybe go kayaking in Dubrovnik or visit Cavtat or Lokrum, this will work great. (By comparison, three nights in Amsterdam will barely give you time to scratch the surface.)

Agnes-Great suggestion on a day trip if we have time.

Lane-You just described our perfect trip and reassured me that we have the right amount of time in each place. We really do just want to relax and enjoy the island, with a little sightseeing sprinkled in. With regards to Amsterdam, I couldn't agree more...we have been once before, so this is also a "wander around, enjoy the restaurants, shops and people" few days. We had to go through Amsterdam to get home, so figured we would extend our layover.

Thank you both for your thoughts, cheers!

It's doable, but not a particularly relaxed pace, with 5 destinations in less than 2 weeks. Personally, I would pick either Korcula or Hvar and add another night to Hvar/Korcula and Split. Trogir is worth a day trip from Split. Or add another day and visit Plitvice. You can do a day trip from Hvar to Brac if you want to visit another island. There are plenty of day trip options from Dubrovnik.

Thanks Jennifer. I have to agree, it may be a little rushed. We'll skip Korcula and add another night in Hvar and Split. I also like your idea for Trogir and a day trip to Brac.
