We are going to be travelling with a car in Croatia and Slovenia for 3 weeks in April-May. I think I finally found information on the limited car ferries from Split to Hvar, but then I read that Hvar is basically shut down until the 3rd or 4th weeks in May. Has anyone been to Hvar around the end of April, and were so many things closed that you wouldn't recommend going?

We were in Brac last April. Way too cold for swimming, but we had no problems shopping for groceries, eating at restaurants. In fact, it was pleasantly uncrowded. People do live on those islands year round, after all.

Where did you find ferry information? I have looked at several websites, and the information is very unclear to me if any ferries are even running in April. We wanted to go from Split to Hvar and back in one day, but I'm not having any luck with that.
Any suggestions?
