Croatia ferry travel

Hi. In late April my partner and I will want to travel from Dubrovnik by ferry to Korkula, then to Split, then to Vis then to Split to depart. I have two questions, and I sure could use your help. First, I have read that there is a weight limit for baggage on the ferry of 20 pounds. Is this accurate? We will be carrying more than that. We will each have one airline carry on and a day pack. Not much, but certainly more than 20 pounds. Will I be able to board the ferries? Second question: we are going to Split from Korkula but would like to omit that turnaround as we will be heading back to Split to depart Croatia. I have read we can go from Korkula to Vis via Hvar instead. Is this possible? Thank you for your help.

According to the website for the Kapetan Luka ferry (the one you would most likely use), you can each bring 23 KG of luggage, which comes to just over 50 pounds per person, so you should be fine. https://krilo.hr/en/about-us/faq/

As for your other question, you can look up the schedules here: https://krilo.hr/en/sailing-schedule/

Edited to add that I don't remember anyone weighing our luggage on the ferry trips we took.

Hmmm, I don’t travel with luggage heavier than their posted limits. That being said, I have been twice and there were no scales in sight. I wonder if it’s a policy precaution in case someone shows up with multiple heavy suitcases.
Edit: remember 23k is actually 50 lb.

We have taken multiple ferries, and I have never seen anyone weighing luggage. Korcula was one of our favorite islands! We had a gorgeous view of the harbor from our beautiful apartment, the people are friendly, great wine tasting experiences in Lumbarda, and the water taxi to smaller islands was terrific. You will love it!

Just did this route in Oct. : Dubrovnik- Korcula-Hvar-Split. There were no scales and no size restrictions, and not only that we are now able to play the old lady card and without asking the dock workers carried our very heavy bags up the ramp for us and put them on the luggage shelfs. There is a rainbow. J

We have taken the ferries for years and have never once had anyone look twice at our bags.

About the ferry to Vis - on Croatiaferries.com is says that in April the ferry from Hvar to Vis only runs on Tuesdays. Might have to save Vis for another time.
