Croatia - Family Trip - 7 Days

Good afternoon -

Hoping to get some advice! We will be 2 families doing a week in croatia in June 2025. We would really like to have 1 home base the whole time, even if this doesn't allow us to see all the "hot spots." We want beach, pool, a town to walk (or short drive) in to. We will have a rental car and plan on making some trips to see sights, but figure 1-2 hours away would be max. We are not familiar with Croatia and haven't been before, but love to travel, so figure this might be the first of many and we can try another area out next time. Budget wise, we are flexible, I would say it is not a concern.

Any recommendations of areas, or towns to look for a rental in?

There's actually a pretty nice resort in Sibenik. That's centrally located. The resort is called Amadria Park, and has a number of hotels. It was a big resort during the Commie time.

Have you scoped out flights yet?
Zagreb is often easiest but then you'll have transit to the coast. So, moving from north to south airports:
For Pula, I'd look near Rovinj
For Rijeka, I'd stay on Krk
For Zadar, maybe one of the nearby islands? (I am less familiar with this area)
For Split, I'd look at all of the nearby islands (Brac, Hvar are close enough for day trips to the mainland) as well as the coast south of Split
For Dubrovnik, I'd stay put in the vicinity of Dubrovnik.

I think Split gives you the most variety, but at least this overview may help limit it to certain areas.
