Croatia - 7 days in May

My wife and I are looking to plan vacation 7-days in Croatia (plus 2 days of travel with directs from Denver to Munich) during the last week and half of May. We are planning to fly into Dubrovnik (unless there are other suggestions). We are also looking for the opportunity to spend time at the beach (maybe rent chaises and umbrellas with food/drinks). We like to travel to at least 1-2 other towns but are really looking for relaxation versus a major tour (we plan to comeback with family living in EU). Any suggested itineraries that might include Split or another recommended town?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming 7 nights: Dubrovnik 3, Korcula/Hvar 3 and Split 1. Dubrovnik has a couple “set-up” beaches where you buy the sun chair etc., My favorite swim was actually at Buza II bar, which is literally on the outside of the wall. Have a swim, get some sun, grab a drink, rinse & repeat. Pick either Korcula or Hvar, whichever sounds more your style. Korcula’s best swimming is on the nearby islands by water taxi. Only Stupe island has sun-chair and facilities at the very expensive Moro restaurant. Frankly, was not a fan at all as they blasted music across the beach. Nice area for snorkeling though. If you to LARP being a millionaire then maybe it’s cool.

Make sure you invest in some good water shoes. Rocks aside, the coast is rotten with sea urchins!

Sveti Jakov is one of the beaches in Dubrovnik with rented lounge chairs. It has beautiful views of the Old Town.

I wholeheartedly agree with the recommendations to consider Korcula and get water shoes!
