My friends and us are thinking about staying in the Croatian countryside for 5-7 days. I was wondering if anyone who reads this had done so and if so where and how was it? We are heading south to see Dubrovnik and will have a car.

We have stayed in multiple locations in Croatia, many of which would be considered the countryside. Istria, Brac, near Zagreb. Croatia is great. What exactly do you want to know?

Thanks for answering Emily. We will be coming down from the direction of Germany and have a couple of weeks to spend just enjoying Croatia during the summer. What I am looking for was some ideas of different places to stay for some days to use as a base and to explore out from there . ( I have Rick's Eastern Europe book but JUST ordered his Croatia one so not sure what he has in it yet). For the south I am looking at Cavtat.
I was hoping someone would have stayed in some less visited places that they could suggest as well as a place we might stay.
