Has anyone had a recent experience in attending Mass in Split or near Plitvice? I've searched the internet for times on Saturday evening and Sunday morning in both places without success. In Split, St. Domnius would be our first choice, but we'll take anything. Ditto on Plitvice. We're supposed to leave Plitvice early on Sunday morning, so it probably makes more sense to go there instead of hoping to find one in Split Sunday evening. Thanks.
Since no one is responding, I googled "Saturday mass in Split Croatia" and found a TripAdvisor discussion from about a year ago with lots of good information and a link to a website with mass times. It's appears that St. Dominic might have a Saturday mass at 18:30 and early masses on Sunday morning, but they may be in Croatian. I also googled "English mass in Split Croatia" and it appears there may be a few late Sunday morning at around 11:00. If no one responds here with recent personal experience, you might post on TripAdvisor or contact your Split hotel or apartment host and ask them.
Thanks for checking on this for me. I searched but was unsuccessful. I did also email the TI in Split and am waiting for their reply. One way or the other, I'm sure we'll find something. Croatian doesn't bother me. I kind of like attending in the local language anyway. It's a cultural as well as religious experience. Thanks again.
WL58, I'll bet you can ask at your hotel if you're staying at one, or just look for a church the day before and check with someone there. Or just show up Sunday morning at a reasonable time, and you bound to catch a service.
Thanks Stan. I'm a crazy planner and we're on a tight schedule coming in from Plitvice on Sunday, dropping off car at the airport and getting ourselves downtown. We're at an Airbnb, so I can also get in touch with the owner to see if she knows anything about it, or can find out. Hoping to squeeze it in after we get to Split on Sunday afternoon or at Plitvice before we leave town.
I’ve gone to Mass in Dubrovnik in Croatian. No problem following along, but it is interesting trying to recite the responses and prayers to yourself in English while listening to another language. I know all the words but I kept getting “lost” while listening. Has happened in other countries to me also.
