Just wondering if credit cards are widely accepted in restaurants - Istria area, in particular? Many of our booked accommodations will only accept cash.

That's weird about your accommodation. I use my credit card much more than cash when I am in Istria.

I'm sure there are some restaurants that don't accept credit cards but you'll find that most of them still do.

Cash is still preferred in many restaurants. Larger hotels will accept credit cards but B&B’s want cash. Some would accept American $. You can ask.

My experience is that the smaller family-run accomodations usually prefer cash. Or they at least offer a cash discount.
