Hey there!
So I am looking at FlixBus times from Zagreb to Rovinj and it appears they only have routes that are 8-10 hours left! From my research this should be a four hour trip. Are there any other good companies I could check out regarding buses? I have so far seen Obio.

It is always helpful to share your dates of travel and where you have searched.
When I search at https://www.akz.hr/en (be patient--it takes time to load) for this Friday, I see multiple options (Autotrans is one I used several times, as well as Brioni). They include the Flixbus results so you can compare and choose one with fewest stops.

Thank you so much! That is actually the site I used. The app is Obeo (every time I try to change the language to English the app crashes) and have booked one way there. I will be using it again for the return. Did you like the quality of bus? My dates are May 26 and May 31.

I am unfamiliar with that app but know sometimes European apps might cause problems but the website will work okay on a browser. I never purchased anything in advance, but I know crowds have increased so it may be prudent.
Buses were always fine in my experience--not exactly luxury but totally unremarkable!

Arriva is the company used to travel by bus within Croatia. Flixbus is better for longer distances (between countries).

The buses are definitely basic.
Have you considered just renting a car as once you are in Rovinj, how will you get around to see the beauty of Istria?
