Hello travel family!
Our ambitious itinerary has us dropping off a rental car in Rovinj on Thursday morning, June 26, and attempting to get to Lake Bled or Bohinj, Slovenia that night. I've scoured the internet for information about buses from Rovinj to Ljubljana, but haven't come up with any that leave in the morning. Rick's Eastern Europe guidebook says that there is one that leaves at 8am on weekdays, but there's no further info. Anybody have tips for making this trip in one day?
Thank you!
Rick's Croatia/Slovenia book is a new edition this spring. It says that the 8:00 bus departure runs late June-August only and that the Rovinj bus station may move in the course of this year. I did not yet find online bus schedules from Rovinj in a quick search, but you might email the Tourist Office: [email protected] or try more of their links at http://www.tzgrovinj.hr/page/how-to-reach-us/arrival-in-rovinj/by-bus. For departures from Pula, see http://www.fils.hr/en/portfolio/pula-ljubljana-pula-2/. If you're picking up the car in Croatia, then dropping in Slovenia could be expensive, but it would be handy to have the car for Lake Bohinj and other rural destinations there.
