Bus from Dubrovnik to Split

Hello, we (husband and I) plan on taking a bus to Split from Dubrovnik and as I look online, I am getting a little confused. Do we order tickets from libertasdubrovnik or getbybus.com or croatiabus?
Is one bus line preferable over another?
We are sleeping in Trogir that night, so I'm guessing we will have to transfer to a smaller bus to get there?
Will it be clear how to transfer?
Can we order online ahead of time or wait until we are in Dubrovnik?
Ideally I would ratherorder ahead if possilbe as we only 3 and 1/2 days in Dubrovnik and do not want to have to look for a bus station during our tour times to buy tickets?

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...The day we need to leave Dubrovnik is Sept. 11, 2016

Why not take the fast ferry from Dubrovnik to Split? It has to be shorter than a bus ride, and then get your bus tickets when you arrive in Dubrovnik. We took it last August in the other direction and I think it was under 4 hours one way.

Thank you for your reply...We are taking the Ferry from Split to Dubrovnik, so we thought it would be nice to see a different type of scenery on the way back north!

I don't remember which bus company I took from Dubrovnik to Split back in 2011 but if there are multiple companies competing on that route, why not just pick one based on price and schedule? The bus I took was very nice, clean and modern. I bought the ticket the day before at the bus station just to be sure to get a specific time - I don't think online was even an option when I went. The trip itself was gorgeous, time just flew by and the bus made at least one pit stop in Neum.

As far as Trogir goes, yes, that's a separate bus from Split. Rick's book (or any travel book on Croatia) can tell you bus number and location.

Sorry it took me so long to thank you for your reply. We have decided on a bus. We are going to buy our tickets when we arrive.

Thanks again for tips!
