I'm having trouble finding info about the blue caves. Need to know their distance from either Split or Dubrovnik please.
Dear Cindi, blue cave is much closer to Split than to Dubrovnik. It is located on the island of Bisevo (very close to the much bigger island of Vis). It is not easy to go there on your own. You would need to take a ferry from Split to Vis town (on the island of Vis). This ride lasts for 2.5 hours. Then, after landing in Vis town you would need to take a bus to Komiza (another town on the island of Vis). It takes about 20-25 minutes to reach Komiza from Vis town. After reaching Komiza you would need to take a local tour to Bisevo island (Blue Cave).
For this activity I think it would be more feasable to take a tour from Split. Cost for this activity is between 80-100 euro. Most of these tours also stop on some other islands (Hvar, Solta, Green Cave....) so you will see a lot of Croatian coast in Central Adriatic. On these sites are some tours that go there www.bluecavetours.com, www.enjoysplit.hr or www.lukarent.com
Take care!
Thank you. Very informative.
