We are traveling in Croatia for 3 weeks this Fall and are struggling with pros and cons of the car rental companies in Croatia. What are your thoughts and/or recommendations?

It has been a few years, but we used Avis when we were there. Returned at the airport, did the self return and had no issues.

We always use Sixt.
Of the major chains, it’s six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I seem to recall favorable reviews of some lesser known companies in Croatia
when researching for my needs, although I went with Sixt. You might want to
search back in time in the forum.

We used Nova, a Croatian company. We rented just outside the Dubrovnik walls and dropped off in Zagreb. We drove to Kotor, Mostar, back into Croatia and to Istria and Slovenia. Everything was great, although it was a bit hard to find their Zagreb office due to small signage.

Another vote for Sixt. When booked through www.AutoEurope.com they always had the lowest rates in Croatia,
